This nice place is Taman Jaya in Petaling Jaya.
It used to be little worse for wear but not so long ago, the authorities decided to spruce it up. Now, it looks pretty decent.

These young chaps are making murtabak. It is a Malay delicacy that finds favour with the Chinese and Indians as well.
Murtabak goes down well with pickled sliced onion rings. It is very popular during the month of Ramadan.

That looks like sting ray to me, or what we locals call ikan pari. But then, I could be wrong.
The banana leaves are supposed to give it that special texture that makes it just right. Actually, it’s the sauce that clinches the “deal”, so to speak. So every successful hawker who sells ikan panggang makes it a point to come up with the best sauce.

This bird even though is common is seldom seen at the hawker stall. But this delicacy showed up during the recent month of Ramadan.
It is actually quite delicious. In English, the bird is known as quail. One of those quiet road runners. Actually, I prefer frogs, those long-legged ones.

For the clueless, this shot was taken on one of the upper floors in Semua House in Petaling Street.
Great place to hang out if you like to watch those TV dramas you have missed. The plus point is that DVD beats TV anytime, and there are no ads to spoil the fun.
