Trachypithecus auratus sondaicus, the scientific name for those silverish-grey haired monkeys with heads shaped a bit like cones are found in abundance atop Kuala Selangor’s little hill.
Those ordinary monkeys that are common in most secondary Malaysian forests have given way to these Silver haired guys. Actually, silver-leafed monkeys are friendly than their ordinary cousins who can be a little aggressive at times.

Baby monkeys of the silver-leafed species like those which can be found in Bukit Melawati in Kuala Selangor have orange-gold fur.
So they are quite attractive at this stage of their development. That phase will soon pass and their fur will change to that standard silver-grey colour for adult Silver-leafed monkeys.

Monkeys tell man: You think we want to fight for human handouts? It is beneath our animal dignity but an ape has got to eat, you know.
Everyday, hanging on our feet upside down and if necessary with our tails can be quite tiring. On top of that, we are getting peanuts (literally) for entertaining those humans!

Monkey thinking: I hope the pixman catches my best side. The sun’s too hot for a handsome primate like me.
