The art of kite making is still very much alive in Kelantan. Top picture shows the many colours of the Kelantan wau.
These are mainly for home decor. The real wau is much bigger and they are for competition purposes. The middle and bottom pictures show the skeletal framework of a wau and how it takes shape.

I am located in Penang. Many I have found in Penang are not very “traditional” looking and not as beautiful as in the picture above.

Cindy, you can try googling for traditional kites for sale in Malaysia. I am sure there are more than a few shops in Kelantan or Terengganu which are involved in selling this particular item.
