Masjid Jamek is reportedly the oldest mosque in Malaysia. It is located at the meeting of two rivers – Gombak river and the Klang river.

History books indicate that this marks the spot of the beginning of Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. The early settlers of the then old Malaya built their shelters, huts and hovels around this spot.
