Making Spring Roll Skins August 18, 2006

Spring Roll or Popiah is a popular snack. The paper-thin skin is made from plastering flour dough onto a slightly oiled griddle on low fire as can be seen in this picture. This lady has been doing it for over 30 years in Malacca and in a single day, she can make over 30 kilos of dough, I am told.
