KL International Tattoo Parade 2007 September 14, 2007Posted by asianpixmen in Activities, Malaysia, People, Places.
September 8, 2007 was a special day at Stadium Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur. It was the official day of the International Tattoo Parade that involved 13 countries.
The King and Queen and the Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak were in attendance. The countries that stood out in excellent performance were Brunei, Scotland, Singapore, New Zealand and Thailand.
Each country tried to introduce a touch of fun into its repertoire. Singapore with its almost flawless silent drill by some well trained troopers. NZ had its cultural troupe performing a sterling display of Haka dance and Brunei gave the stadium an air of gaiety with a bit of joget and zapin.
The Royal Regiment of Scotland, not to be left behind, came out in their splendid red traditional kilt and bagpipes and filled the air with a teary rendition of the Amazing Grace.
All in all, it was a night of fantastic colours, aerobatic displays and some daring acts by members of the Malaysian Special Forces.
