Section 17 After Dark October 12, 2007

Posted by asianpixmen in Activities, Culture, Food, Malaysia, People, Places.

Darkness has fallen and the neon lights are out. Actually, the fluorescent tubes are shining brightly in the Section 17 market area.

After dusk, the restaurants, coffeeshops and hawkers come out to play, sell and ply their trades. I love coming here whenever opportunity allows.

It is a hive of activity that puts paid to the eternal quest by the Chinese community to earn an extra buck. Malaysians, bar none, all love to eat, sleep and test the limits of their fragile tummies.

It is one of our infamous nocturnal habits. Shame on us, but what a lovely habit it is, too! All this talk of hawker stalls makes me hungry.
