Siesta time for seafaring folks February 1, 2008

If you are a city dweller, you will be forgiven for being thoroughly fascinated by happenings that are far remote from your daily activities.

Take this scene for example. It is somewhere in the heart of Teluk Kumbar, Penang. It is one of the fishing villages that dot the coastline of a path less travelled by outstation folks as well as Penangites. Most Penang people take villages like this one for granted.

But after seeing endless blocks of bland, monotous flats and condos, a fishing village like this is absolutely splendid to our jaded eyes. I wonder what runs through the minds of these villagers when they spot a city slicker taking pictures.
