King of the Yew Char Kueh! February 10, 2008Posted by asianpixmen in Culture, Food, Malaysia, Places.
Somewhere in downtown Petaling Street is a stall that sells these monstrous looking yew char kueh. I have tasted it. It is not bad by normal standards but it’s the size that grabs me.
I have put a measuring tape along its length for visual comparison. The last time, I bought one, it costs about a dollar each. It could have gone up by now. You know these hawkers, they are itching to raise the price of their edibles at the slightest opportunity.
So if you are down to your last dollar and are scratching your head to obtain a substantial meal for a a measly dollar, head for this place and ask for the “tai loke yew char kueh”. Somewhere along the road, somebody is bound to give you the right answer.
