Please, take a seat April 3, 2008Posted by asianpixmen in Craft, Culture, India, Places.
It wasn’t so long ago that our mamas and our papas told us young’uns that a hard surface was best for our physical forms. This policy apparently even applies to chairs. But time and so-called progress made many of us forget about such simple axioms.
Today, a lot of chairs are cushioned, soft and comfy. So we end up with a lot of human potatoes. Now take a look at what’s being made in Kashmir and other parts of India. These are small little wooden chairs of superior timber.
They may look a little awkward but rest assured, they are quite adequate in giving the person seated a good posture. I have tried it and it was quite fun, for want of a better description. But it’s not that cheap. You may want one for your living hall so that guests can have something to talk about.
