Nasi bungkus on the go for go-getters April 16, 2008Posted by asianpixmen in Culture, Food, Malaysia, People, Places.
Malaysians who love to eat are all familiar with the above scenario. You walk right into a pasar malam and almost inadvertently, you will have a mouth-to-eye encounter with rows of curry or fried chicken nasi bungkus at one or two stalls.
This particular dish is almost ubiquitous with Malaysian lifestyle. Everybody must have had at least in his entire life eaten from one of these sytro-form boxes that houses the chicken, chilli paste, onion rings and maybe a slice of cucumber or two.
It is not the piece de resistance that you find at a five-star hotel but if you are alone at home, and you have just made yourself a big glass of white coffee (maybe a la Ipoh or Taiping), then the nasi bungkus contents may just taste good, or excellent, depending on your hunger pangs.
