If you, like me, are a book lover, then those irregular warehouse book sale would interest you. Just imagine the prices of books these days. The thought is enough to make an avid reader starting borrowing from friends or become a member of the public library.
Hence, occasionally, you find in newspapers or magazines about an impending book warehouse sale and your mental antenna goes up. Pay Less is one of those outlets that holds warehouse sale now and then, either in Petaling Jaya or Subang Jaya.
Yes, it’s true, most of their books are American editions but the prices are so affordable that you could literally buy about five books for RM50. Try doing that at a regular bookstore. You may not even get pass a single book.
Malaysians are notorious for being lazy readers. I recall reading somewhere that Malaysians on the average read about two books a year. No wonder we talk funny and write even funnier! A number of people these days no longer speak proper English but SMS language.
Which means they talk in acronyms. For example, TMTH (Too much to handle), LOL (laughing out loud) and ASAP (as soon as possible). If this trend continues, we will just grunt. That’s about bring us right to the Stone Age. Good luck!
