Guideposts to the celestial palace July 2, 2008

Chinese religious artefacts are sold in abundance at selected shops in most towns, but information of their whereabouts is confined to the faithful.

As some of us know, some of these items are not cheap. For those who subscribe to other religious persuasions, it is an educational experience to walk into one of such premises. The items on sale are many and colourful.

But it is a serious matter and you need to know what you want so that the gods can be appeased. Through the centuries, the various items for religious rituals have been invented, designed and improvised upon.

Today in this day and age, the industry has become rather sophisticated and those of us who are not familiar with the inventory need to be informed and educated by others who are more familiar with the obligatory rituals and the items involved.
