There was a time when the Moonlight Beach, otherwise known as Pantai Cahaya Bulan was known as the Beach of Passionate Love.

We shall not dwell on why the name of the beach was changed. Suffice to say, the authorities felt it didn’t want visitors to get the wrong idea.

Anyway, this beach is famous among visitors from outside the State of Kelantan and is fairly popular among local residents.  The east coast of Peninsular Malaysia is filled with white sand beaches and its beauty needs to be seen to be appreciated.

The Beach of Passionate Love has its heyday back about 30 years ago. Today, it is less publicised because foreign visitors tend to flock to the more remote areas when the prying eyes belong to the seagulls.

But if you are game for a respite that will ease your mind and borrow a few hours of endless relaxation, you may find this beach and rest your tired body on the soft, white sand, preferably under the shade of a big, frongs of a swaying coconut palm tree.
