As progress and development catch up with towns and cities in Malaysia, vendors like this continue to fade away. There’s still a place for mobile hawkers like this elderly gentleman.
Children of these traders are no longer interested in their father’s or mother’s profession if it involves much toil under the sun, or if it means standing by the roadside for hours on end. Earning at the end of the day, peanuts as they say.
But much of the memories of the more mature citizens evolved around these hawkers. Life was simpler and money seemed to have greater value then.
